About the gathering
At the turning toward winter, we gather around the ancestor’s hearth: a place for remembrance, gratitude, grief, and the living relationships that sustain us. Together, we’ll honor ancestors of blood, heart, and craft: those who gave us life, those who became kin through love, and those whose teachings, skills, and stories helped us find our way. Beloved animals and other beings who shaped our lives also have a place in our remembrance.
You do not need to follow a particular spiritual path or have experience with ritual. The meaning of each action will be explained as we go. You may approach the gathering as spirit work, remembrance, or quiet reflection. Every part is optional; you may speak, listen, remain seated, or step out when needed.
